Your Research processes personal data. If you participate in a study through our app, we usually process your personal data on behalf of the research institution. In some cases, Your Research processes personal data on your behalf, for example, when you request information through our website or sign up for a study.

What is the purpose of processing my personal data by Your Research?

When you share your contact details with us through our website, we usually use your data to contact you or to give a demo. It may also be that you want to sign up for a study, and therefore we need your data.

When you use our app, we need your data to enable the use of the app, to determine whether you meet the age limit set in the GDPR, and to enable research institutions to conduct research.

Your Research also informs you about possible relevant studies for which participants are being sought.

We only use your personal data when you have given us permission to do so.

What personal data does Your Research need from me?

It varies. If you only want to contact Your Research, your name and email address are sufficient.

If you want to participate in a study, we will also ask you for the personal data necessary to participate in the research. Together with the research institutions, Your Research aims for data minimization: we will only ask you for the personal data that is strictly necessary for the research, and you can optionally provide us with other personal data.

The personal data required varies per study and can be viewed before we ask for your consent. Examples of personal data we may ask for include your phone number, address, time zone, and IP address.

It may be that we also need special personal data from you, among other things, to determine if you belong to the target group of the research. This can include data about your health. We handle these personal data with extra care and process these personal data only with your explicit consent.

For some studies, Your Research also needs your location data. In that case, Your Research will ask for your permission in advance, and you can also withdraw your consent at any time.

Does Your Research provide my personal data to third parties or are they stored outside the European Union?

It may happen that Your Research provides your personal data to third parties. This is only done when necessary, for example, for hosting the website and technical support of the Your Research app.

When you participate in a study, Your Research will in any case share your personal data with the research institution conducting the study in which you participate. Which third parties we engage can vary per study, contact our Data Protection Officer to know which third parties we have engaged for the study you are participating in or will participate in.

Your Research always ensures that your personal data is stored within the European Union.

What is the retention period that Your Research uses for my personal data?

We do not store your personal data longer than is legally allowed and necessary. You can always request to have your personal data deleted.

When you use our app, your personal data is stored as long as you actively use the app. If you stop using the app and request to have your personal data deleted, Your Research will do this within thirty days. If you are inactive for twelve months, we will ask you if you want to continue using the app. If not, we will delete your personal data after another three months.

What rights do I have regarding my personal data?

You have the following rights: the right to access the personal data we process about you, the right to correction, supplementation, and where necessary, the deletion of your personal data. You may also have personal data transferred to a third party.

When you make a request for access with us, we will respond to the request within a month or let you know that we need more time. In all cases, we will respond to your access request within three months. An access request is free of charge unless your request is unfounded or unreasonable. We will then charge a reasonable fee or refuse your access request.

How are my personal data protected?

Appropriate technical and organizational security measures have been taken by Your Research to protect your personal data, including certification according to ISO 27001 and NEN 7510.

What are cookies and does Your Research use them? Cookies are small text files that Your Research can place on your computer or smartphone when you visit our website. With these cookies, we can collect and store information about your website visit.

Your Research does not use cookies in the app.
